Private holiday home

Casa degli Angeli can be rented as a private holiday home directly from it's Dutch owners in the period of October 1 to May 1. The house has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, but is also available for smaller groups.

This 100 year old stone building still has many of the original features such as a fireplace, double blinds, terra cotta floors and the typical beamed ceilings. The house stands completely detached and is surrounded by a garden and terrace on different levels.

The building is situated on the outskirts of the hamlet of Deccio di Brancoli. This hilltop village is nestled amongst the forests on 480 m. of height, just about 10 km. north of Lucca.

This is truly a beautiful environment. The area is characterized by extensive forests and picturesque villages. Their inhabitants live mainly from hunting and the cultivation of fruits, grapes and olives.

Surroundings

The central location of the house offers a wide choice of possible excursions:

• Visiting the four highlights of Tuscany: Lucca (18 km), Pisa (50 km), Florence (80 km) and Siena (150 km).
• Hiking in one of the many protected nature reserves of the Garfagnana and exploring it's picturesque towns like Barga and Castelnuovo (30 km.). Or hiking and cycling straight from the house in the beautiful Brancoli area (0 km.).
• Taking a tour in a vineyard, combined with the tasting of oil and wine at the nearby Strada del Vino e Olio (30 km.).
• Going to the beach in the beautiful resort Viareggio (45 km.) Or snorkeling in the UNESCO World Heritage of Cinque Terre (120 km.).
• Taking the children for a survival adventure in an adventure park and exploring the annexed prehistoric village (40 km.). Or visiting the Pinocchio Park with the nearby Butterfly House and Historic Garden (45 km.).
• Taking a tour of the marble excavations (45 km.). Or exploring one of the most complete cave systems in Europe, the Grotta del Vento (20 km.).
• Visiting Vinci, the birthplace of Leonardo da Vinci and the Da Vinci Museum (50 km.).
• Wintersports in the ski resort of Abetone (60 km.).

Accomodation

In and around the house, Casa degli Angeli has everything you need as a tourist. Firstly, it has a large covered terrace, allowing you to enjoy the view also during the wetter seasons. There is a large outdoor table for dining and comfortable garden chairs for relaxation.

The kitchen with fireplace is equipped with modern kitchen facilities (dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator, oven, plate heater and a 5-burner gas stove), dining table and TV with VCR. Videos for all ages and some (board) games are also present.

In the cozy but spacious living room you will find a comfortable (sleeping) couch for 2 persons, a large dining table and satellite TV.

The four tastefully decorated bedrooms on the first floor all have private toilets and showers. A high chair, baby bed and -bath and two children's beds are available upon request.

And last but not least, there's free internet access with Wi-Fi.

The house is heated by means of a modern central heating stove fuelled by pellet wood (wood chips). This stove is connected to radiators in the bedrooms upstairs, which can easily be kept on a constant temperature by means of a thermostat. The pellet wood will be provided though is not included in the rental price.

Rates

* Rental of linen and final cleaning are included. Pellet wood for the stove will be settled separately. Wood for the fireplace in the kitchen is not supplied.
